JB Football Coaching

JB Football Coaching is a football coaching business in Bonnyrigg, Midlothian, run by Jonathan Brown: one to one sessions, small groups, performance groups and holiday camps for boys and girls of every age. I built its website from scratch and it went live on 31 October 2026. I show it because I can tell you why every decision was made, and because football is a world I know first hand.

Where the business started

A coach with a real following, and nowhere that explained it all.

Jonathan already had players, parents who rated him and a busy week of sessions. What he did not have was one place that explained how he coaches, what the four ways to train are, and how to book, so everything ran through social media and messages.

For a coach, a parent decides in seconds whether to book. They want to know who is coaching their child, where, what it costs and whether it is safe. The site is built so every one of those answers is a tap away.

The game plan

Six decisions, and why I made each one.

  1. Make booking the obvious next step

There is a Book button in the navigation on every page and a Book your first session button in the first screen. A parent can book through Pembee, or message Jonathan on WhatsApp first if they have a question.

  2. Never let the prices go out of date

Prices and times live on Pembee, the booking system Jonathan already uses, so the site points to them and never copies them. When he changes a price there, the site is already right.

  3. Say what he stands for in one line

The first thing a visitor reads is Understand the player first. It is Jonathan's own approach, in his own words, before any list of sessions.

  4. Show the real place and the real sessions

Every photo and clip is Jonathan's own: the pitch at Poltonhall, his sessions and his coaching. No stock photos, and no watermarked press photos.

  5. Build the phone version properly

Most parents will open it on a phone, so phones get their own portrait hero, a simple menu and large tap targets. I checked every page at phone width, one by one.

  6. Put safeguarding in the open

Safeguarding, code of conduct, booking terms and privacy each have their own page, written from Jonathan's own documents, so a parent can read them before they book.

What I built

A site a parent can understand in seconds.

Every part of the site is there for a reason. Here is the home page with the choices from the game plan marked on it.

What changed

What I can say honestly, and what I won't.

  1. Ownership

    Jonathan owns his own address

Jonathan bought the domain, jbfootballcoaching.com, himself, so the address is his and stays his whatever happens next.

  2. Booking

    One tap from every page

A parent can reach booking, or message Jonathan on WhatsApp, from the navigation on any page, on a phone or a computer.

  3. Prices

    Always the current ones

Prices and times are read from Pembee, so there is only one place to update and the site can never show an old price.

  4. Honesty

    No made up numbers

The site went live on 31 October 2026, which is too new to claim anything about bookings or search results. When there are real numbers worth showing, they go on this page, with the date.

  5. Next

    Found on Google

Google Search Console and Jonathan's Google profile are the next steps, so families searching for football coaching in Midlothian can find him.

"I build the foundation. I run the engine. You own the returns."
